Groundskeeping & Landscaping

Help maintain pathways, mow grass, trim brush, plant seasonal flowers, and keep our 150+ acres beautiful and accessible for visiting families.

Commitment: 2โ€“4 hours/month ยท Saturdays preferred

Work alongside trained restoration specialists to clean, document, and stabilize weathered headstones. Learn proper techniques for preserving historic markers.

Volunteer Application

Complete the form below and our volunteer coordinator will reach out within 3 business days to match you with the right opportunity. All volunteers receive orientation before their first assignment.

Requirements & Expectations

  • Age: Volunteers must be 16 or older; ages 14โ€“15 may participate with a parent or guardian present
  • Orientation: All new volunteers complete a 1-hour orientation covering safety, respect protocols, and site history
  • Attendance: Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot make a scheduled shift
  • Conduct: Treat all gravesites, families, and fellow volunteers with dignity and respect at all times
  • Safety gear: Closed-toe shoes required; gloves and tools provided for grounds and restoration work
  • Weather: Outdoor workdays may be rescheduled due to rain, extreme heat, or icy conditions
  • Background checks: Required for volunteers working with archival records containing personal family data or assisting at children's memorial events
  • Physical ability: Groundskeeping involves walking on uneven terrain; let us know about any accommodations you may need

Group Volunteering

Bring Your Church, School, or Team

We welcome group volunteer days for churches, schools, corporate teams, scout troops, and civic organizations. We will plan a meaningful project matched to your group's size, abilities, and schedule.

Typical group projects include pathway clearing, wildflower planting, headstone cleaning, and memorial event setup. We provide all tools, safety briefing, and a group photo to commemorate your service.
